Lee Wilder's debut album is a multi-genre and imaginative collection, powerful enough to grab the ear of legendary Beatles art director John Kosh and renowned photographer Aaron Rapoport, who collaborated together on the original imagery for the record. Self-described as "a bipolar gospel journey," by Lee himself, Wilder was discovered by Blind Owl Records and developed as a break away artist from his cult following band The Paragraphs in San Diego, CA. Sound Emporium is a timeless record; a myriad of inspirations spanning a circus-like spectrum. In regards to how the project came to be, Wilder says, "After ruining a marriage and pretty much losing everything of any emotional value, I decided I needed to live a more sober and purposeful life. During that process, I was in the studio with producers Dude Cervantes and Jordan Andreen. The result is this album. " Recorded all-analog to tape, many of the lyrics are captured in-the-moment, on the first or second take. Much of the album is co-written by Cervantes and Andreen, with tasteful guitar and engineering throughout that serve the magnetism of Wilder, and his stream of consciousness lyrical style. It's for those about to rock, dance, laugh, and cry. Fueled by the alt-rock of Nirvana, outlaw country melodies reminiscent of Johnny Cash, the cinematic weight of Nick Cave, and the bluesy psychedelia of late 60s bands like The Doors, there's plenty of noise, feedback, risk, and grace. All mixed together, Sound Emporium creates a wall of sound production. "A wonderfully eclectic album dripping with bewitching flair. " - Tattoo. Com "Wilder's musical talent and skills truly shine on each track. " - Medium "A party in your speakers" - American Highways "Addictive and compelling rock. " - Glide Magazine
